If you don’t call yourself the goat, who will?

August 30, 2026

Many of my close friends know I like to call myself the goat very often. I say it not because I’m egotistical in any sort of manner (at least I hope I’m not), but because it’s a phrase that reminds me that if I don’t believe in myself, it’s rare that someone else will.

I daydream a lot. And these dreams are big. Dreams that are so big, that there probably isn’t anyone out there that believes that you could REALLY do it. After all, it’s statistically impossible for a kid like me to make that dream come true. And when you’re working on dreams so big, it’s important to have a believer to keep pushing you when it seems impossible. To have trust that there might be a chance, even if it’s so small, and that’s why we keep pushing. And while we’ll gather believers on our journey to making dreams come true, it’s important that you have a first believer. Someone who, despite the statistics, and how impossible it sounds to everyone else, REALLY believes you can do it. And oftentimes, that first believer needs to be yourself.

After all, if you don’t call yourself the goat, who will?
